Aftermath of the storm, muscat is starved

I went out in the morning to get essentials like water, milk and some breakfast.

Only few shops were open. None of them had water, milk, bread, and vegetables!

There is a severe shortage of essentials in the city.

The pipelines had been damaged by the rains 2 day back. A friend called at 11 am to alert me that there could be a serious problem with water supply. He was at Ghala , an industrial area with large number of worker's camps. The water and food for the devastated area was being distributed by the police!

It is told that the main pipelines which supply desalinated water to the city was broken. More serious was the report that the desalination plants were not working at all. It may tke a few days to repair these. There could be a severe shoratge of water and the consequences can be very very serious for the residents.
